2006 Humanitarian Appeal

Current Appeal: The Government and humanitarian partners appealed for 2.6 million food aid beneficiaries of which 69 percent are in the critically-affected pastoralist and agro-pastoralist areas.

For the first time in decades there are no emergency food beneficiaries in Tigray and Harari Regions this year. These and other chronically food insecure populations are covered under the PSNP (Productive Safety Net Programme). Non-food needs for the country remain high, particularly in drought prone parts of the country.
